Visited the campus
The University campus is well spread out. One of the most interesting sites is the one hundred year old tree planted by the Japanese during the occupation of Taiwan and the barracks close by the architecture typical of that period. -

THE OLD BANYAN TREES THE FAMOUS LANDMARK OF NCKU
National Cheng Kung University is one of the best universities in Taiwan. Founded in 1931, several buildings are dominated by red brick walls and still retain their original shape. The main building in the front is the campus museum with the old banyan trees, being the most famous landmark of NCKU. Not only students but people like to hang out there. The double rows of old banyan trees planted along the boulevard makes the beautiful campus walk. The campus is divided into 7 regions separated by protocol streets and many sculptures statue with high artistic value. The location is in the heart of Tainan city next to Tainan Station. Yule Street across the street from university is a popular student food street where we can find cheap shops for food and bubble tea. -

How educational!
Even if you are not a student at this university that is across from the rear entrance of the train station, you can enjoy the ambiance and history of this site. This green campus has low rise buildings, a duck/koi pond, and many sculptures throughout -- the chess players was one of my favorites. Also you can clearly see remnants of the Eastern Gate wall of Fu Cheng and a modern gate near the museum. -

good place for picnic
there is a big tree and big field for picnic, which is the only thing we did when we went there. The campus is huge but you definitely see some trees there. -

LEARN CHINESE
The Chinese language center here is one of the best in the country. Many young and young at heart come here to learn Chinese in classes or one by one. You can learn by the lovely pond and bridge. Old classic Gates and trees on campus, too.
