Lisheng Temple is the spiritual center of Masago in the Jianggyun District of Tainan City. The temple is dedicated to  “Lifuqiansui”, “Tianshangshengmu” and “Zhongtanyuanshuai.”　 The local people believe that the power of Lisheng Temple led to the area producing many outstanding local entrepreneurs, so many worshippers living in other areas return during important  festivals to join in the celebrations. Inside Lisheng Temple is a sacred sedan chair made out of century-old red cypress wood by craftsmen from Tangshan. No nails were used in the sedan chair and it is decorated with intricate carvings that are well worth admiring.
The Masago fishing village opposite Lisheng Temple is being developed by the Southwest Coast National Scenic Area Administration into a 3D painted village based on the concept of “the fishing village as an art gallery.” There are more than twenty 3D artworks including the former residence of Wu Ching-You, the founder of Eslite.
Lisheng Temple is near Jianggyun Fishing Harbor so there are a number of well-known seafood restaurants nearby. The crab porridge is particularly famous and a local favorite.
