Xinying Railway Scenic Park takes the story of Taisugar Railway as the main centerpiece of its revitalization and development. By reinterpreting the characteristic sceneries of Sinying Railway Station, with the many rail tracks converging on the station through a series of connections, continuations and stitching of railway tracks, the spatial sequence of the park is thus formed. There are also all kinds of switches, carriers, and signal stations between the tracks, which imply the time and space flow of the industrial development and changes of the place.
The famous Sugar Train of Sinying Sugar Factory starts at the adjacent Sinying Railway Cultural Park and travels to Ba-Lao-Ye Station in Liuying District. Visitors can travel through time and space to experience the past and present of the sugar factory, and enjoy the material transport tracks and the riverside wilderness, sugarcane fields and other scenic views along the line.
(In order to meet the operational needs and route maintenance work, tourist rides on the Sugar Train (Wu-fen Train) is currently not available (resumption of services is not yet scheduled).)
The Bureau of Urban Development of the Tainan City Government has constructed a 1.4-kilometer long Tianmi Cycling Route (Sugar Cycling Route), that passes through the Fertilizer Warehouse Entrance Plaza, 25-track Sunshine Grassland, Tangfu Printing Museum Creative & Recreational Plaza, and Weitang Youth Creative Cultural Plaza. Highlights such as outdoor classrooms and green space are adjacent to the Taiwan Sugar Sinying Railway Cultural Park.
The Plaza leverages the image of winding tracks in designing the floor, and retains the old cement fences, railways, and sleepers to restructure the landscape; the intertwined old trees, old air-raid shelters, tractors and platforms in the sugar factory are also worth visiting.
