The Confucius Temple complex has been maintained in its entirety and in good condition to reflect its importance as “the first school in Taiwan”, as well as the special role it played in the history of cultural education. The grand ceremony passed down unchanged through the generations, the ritual vessels and instruments representing a rich body of tangible and intangible cultural assets, and promotional events for new students have all made the temple the most important cultural landmark. These cultural assets in turn help sustain the Confucius Temple Cultural Festival.
