The Pokémon GO "Routes" launched on Jan 20 include a total of 30 Routes spanning 9 administrative districts, including Anping, West Central, Yanshui, Baihe, Longqi, Beimen, Jiangjun, Annan, and Qigu, with over 200 attractions. These Routes cover a variety of experiences, including fort exploration, seaside scenery, cultural and artistic atmospheres, indulging in local delicacies, eco-friendly mountain hikes, and hot spring relaxation ... and more, offering something for everyone. Director-General Lin Kuo-hua of the Tainan City Tourism Bureau expressed gratitude for the support from Niantic Inc. Not only did the company organize Taiwan's first Pokémon GO City Safari in Tainan, but they also selected Tainan as the launching site for Taiwan's Routes. For each completed Route, which is within 1.2 kilometers, trainers will receive a route medal certified by the game. Additionally, the Tourism Bureau is offering 500 "Sababoy iCash2.0" pendants. Trainers who complete all 30 Routes in Tainan can claim them at the Anping Tourism Service Center.
The Tourism Bureau noted that through the additional gifts, they hope to increase trainers' motivation to explore Tainan. By completing these 30 Routes, which cover the urban, coastal, and mountainous areas of Tainan, during the 2024 Taiwan Lantern Festival, trainers can also connect to events such as the Longqi Light Festival: Ritual in the Empty Mountains, the Yuejin Lantern Festival, and the Chengnan Lantern Area.
