From April 19 to 21, 2024, the Tainan City Government's Tourism Bureau participated in the Taiwan Travel Fair in Singapore. Mayor Huang Wei-che led a delegation, including Michelin Bib Gourmand chefs Chou Rong-tang from Zhu Xin Ju and Tsai Jui-cheng from Dong Xiang Taiwanese Cuisine, to the event on April 22. They showcased Tainan’s specialty souvenirs, dried fruits like pineapple and mango, and introduced the "Tainan 400" series of events, Tainan's culinary delights, and its rich agricultural products, encouraging Singapore travel agencies to organize tours to Tainan.

Mayor Huang expressed gratitude to the Tourism Administration, MOTC for inviting Tainan to participate in this promotional event. He noted Singapore as a significant source of tourists for Tainan. According to the Tourism Administration, last year, over 460,000 travelers from Singapore visited Taiwan, with tourism-driven visits increasing by 33.82%, marking Singapore as the fastest-recovering inbound market. During his speech at the travel trade fair, Mayor Huang specifically highlighted Tainan's customized city emblem paired with the Singaporean national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid hybrid, which received high acclaim from the attending travel professionals. Mayor Huang also added that following Tainan’s inclusion in National Geographic Traveller UK's "The Cool List 2024: the 30 most exciting destinations to visit in 2024" and CNN’s list "Where to go in 2024: The best places to visit," where Tainan was the only Taiwanese city featured, the city’s global reputation continues to grow. Tainan is recognized as the culinary capital of Taiwan, boasting 36 Michelin Bib Gourmand and 24 Michelin-selected restaurants, totaling 60 Michelin-recognized dining establishments.  During the promotional event in Singapore, Tainan made a special effort to introduce its traditional Taiwanese cuisine to Singaporeans by inviting two Michelin-recognized chefs, Chou Jung-tang from Chu Hsin Chu and Tsai Jui-cheng from Dong Xiang Taiwanese Cuisine. They brought signature dishes from their restaurants to showcase the rich flavors of Tainan's traditional Taiwanese dishes. This initiative underscores Tainan’s abundant tourism resources and aims to enhance global recognition and appreciation of the city through collective support and collaboration.

Director Lin Kuo-hua of the Tainan City Government's Tourism Bureau elaborated on the efforts made during the Singapore tourism promotion event and travel fair. The Tainan booth was themed around "Tainan 400," incorporating cultural relics and local agricultural products. The staff wore T-shirts reflecting the theme, which enhanced the overall image of the booth. At the travel fair stage, they presented "Six Reasons to Visit Tainan" to the Singaporean audience, engaging them with a quiz game where participants eagerly responded for a chance to win prizes like dried pineapple gifts from Tainan, effectively marketing Tainan’s tourist attractions to the Singaporean public. Additionally, the Tourism Bureau expressed gratitude to Dakeng Leisure Farm and Likan Tourism Factory for their collaboration in showcasing Tainan’s leisure farm and tourism factory attractions and resources to the Singapore audience. These efforts aim to draw more international visitors to experience the unique tourism and cultural offerings of Tainan.

The Tourism Bureau has initiated the "2024 Tainan City International Tourism Incentive Program" starting April 1st, offering subsidies of up to NT$800 per person to attract international visitors to experience the rich culture and unique charm of Tainan.  For more information on the latest tourist attractions and events in Tainan, please continue to follow the "Travel Tainan" website and the "Travel Tainan Facebook Fan Page."
