To showcase the urban charm of Tainan City to more international travelers, Tainan partnered with an international action camera brand to host the “GoPro Creator Camp.” The 4-day event features the city’s food, a bucket list of sights, unique outdoor activities, and farm tours. The content creators produced a unique marketing video for Tainan shot from the first-person perspective that also highlighted Tainan's travel potential!
Mayor Huang Wei-che said that visitors to Tainan can not only enjoy the food, back streets, and historic buildings but also take part in specialty outdoor itineraries. Examples include kite surfing at the Golden Coast, Stand-up paddling (SUP) in the eco-mangroves of Shuang Chun Coastal Recreational Area, a lake cruise on Hutoubi, and outdoor horse-riding in Guanmiao. To attract more young international backpackers, 12 creators from 8 countries were invited to visit and experience Tainan. The creators not only shared a variety of multimedia materials on IG but also contributed highlights to Tainan's international urban marketing video to show off the other side of Tainan and the city's energy!
Director-General Lin Kuo-hua said that the experience itinerary was divided into three parts, namely downtown, seaside, and mountains. Different types of experiences and catering were organized to showcase all of Tainan’s diverse specialty travel themes in one go. The marketing video also utilized the perspective of international creators to create a more authentic experience. Lin thanked all the vendors who took part in the event and lent their help to boost the international visibility of Tainan City.
