In collaboration with various e-commerce platforms, the Tainan City Government has launched a new shuttle bus service from Kaohsiung International Airport to Tainan, along with a variety of tour packages, starting from August 1, 2024. This initiative aims to attract international visitors by offering them a convenient transportation option to travel directly to Tainan upon arrival at the airport. At the same time, a variety of tour packages featuring popular attractions have been introduced, allowing travelers to select diverse travel products according to their individual needs.
Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che emphasized that the direct shuttle bus service from Kaohsiung International Airport to Tainan offers international tourists a fast and comfortable transportation option to travel between the airport and Tainan, enhancing their travel experience. Tickets for the shuttle service can now be purchased on international e-commerce platforms such as KKday, Klook, Lion Travel, and Tainan Easy Trip, with the websites providing services in four languages: Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean, making it convenient for international travelers to book tickets. The city has also partnered with overseas KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) to promote the service, further driving international marketing efforts. By combining popular Tainan attractions with these tour packages, the goal is to attract more international visitors to experience Tainan, boosting the city’s tourism industry.

Tourism Bureau Director Lin Guo-hua explained that the shuttle route includes five stops: Kaohsiung International Airport, Barclay Memorial Park, Shangri-La Hotel, Tainan Bus Station, and Xiaoximen (Little West Gate). There are four round-trip routes per day, for a total of eight departures. The shuttle departs from Kaohsiung International Airport to Xiaoximen at 00:30, 9:00, 13:00, and 17:00, and from Xiaoximen to Kaohsiung International Airport at 3:30, 11:00, 15:00, and 19:00. The one-way fare is NT$300 per person, and tickets are available for purchase on platforms like KKday, Klook, Lion Travel, and Tainan Easy Trip. In the future, promotional activities will be launched in collaboration with these platforms, offering various discounts and special offers. The aim is to continuously enhance the convenience of traveling to Tainan for international visitors through a diverse range of tour package products, making the city even more accessible and appealing to global travelers.
