Mayor Huang Wei-che Launches Singapore-Only “Travel Tainan Card” to Market Tainan in Partnership with Top Singaporean Food Companies

Introduce
For the first time, the Tainan City Government has partnered with the Singapore Trade Office and I Love Taimei, a Singaporean company that sells Taiwanese food, to co-organize this year’s “Bobactober Taiwan Edition”. The monopoly game aims to attract Singaporean visitors to Taiwan and will run from October 21 through to December 15 whilst “Tainan Week” will run from October 28 to November 3. Simply make purchases at participating brand-name vendors in Singapore to be eligible for the draw to win Tainan-themed prizes such as leisure farmstay vouchers, restaurant coupons, dried fruit, and Hutoupi scenic area tickets. The Tourism Bureau is also giving away a Singapore-only “Travel Tainan Card” with any purchases at participating stores. Simply present the card to enjoy more than 100 exclusive Travel Tainan promotions.

Singapore, in particular, is a key source of tourists to Tainan. This year, the city took part in tourism promotion events in Singapore as well as the “NATAS Holidays 2024 Travel Fair” to promote Tainan tourism and local agricultural specialties. To attract more Singaporean tourists to Tainan, the City also leveraged on the travel industry matchmaking sessions arranged by the Singapore Office of MOTC Tourism Bureau and Taiwan Visitors Association to Singaporean travel agencies that organize tour groups to Taiwan on Tainan 400, tourism resources, and the 2024 Taiwan Lantern Festival. Special thanks go to Representative to Singapore Tung Chen-Yuan for helping to co-organize the marketing of Tainan tourism so that more Singaporean visitors can visit Tainan and fall in love with Tainan.
Tourism Bureau Director-General Lin Guo-hua stated that stores participating in the latest Singaporean marketing campaign included Taiwanese cuisine brands such as I Love Taimei, Hollin Singapore, Formosa Delights, 8 Degrees, Yu Ba Fan, Mister wheel, ToriStory, and BEARS. As Singaporeans are extremely enthusiastic about in-depth local tourism such as leisure farms, nature tours, and local culture, Tainan is perfectly suited to cater to Singaporean preferences in these areas. In addition to offering a number of specialty farmstay vouchers for Singaporeans wanting to get close to nature, this promotion includes bonus giveaways of such as coupons for local cuisine and ingredients, dried fruit gift boxes, Hutoupi Lake ticket and pedal boat tickets, and these large and small prizes are aimed at encouraging more people to take part in these giveaways. A Singapore-only “Tainan Travel Card” that includes special discounts are more than 100 participating merchants, has also been released. The first wave of Tainan-themed gifts have already been given away as part of the preliminary event and were warmly received by the Singaporean public.
