The “Information Session on Promotion of Pond Tourism Mini-Tours in the Local Community” was hosted today (2025/4/23) by the Tourism Bureau of Tainan City Government to promote Tainan tourism and revitalize the local economy. The information session was aimed at promoting the development of mini-tours as part of local specialty travel itineraries. The “Pond Ticket Development Program” was also introduced, with merchants encouraged to join the partner merchant program and revitalize local industries through local consumption.
The rich natural and cultural resources of Tainan make mini-tours an important method for promoting in-depth tourism and local revitalization. The “Reflections of Nanying” project of the City Hall aims to create themed tourism townships with their own regional specialties such as agriculture, livestock, ecology, culture, technology, and museums. The linking of north-south tourism axes and integration of the public transportation system will support comprehensive planned itineraries that will drive regional tourism development. The latest information session forms a bridge between community associations, trade associations, and merchants for cooperating on crafting unique pond and tourism experiences within the city.
The session covered the promotion of local community mini-tours, pond ticketing and merchant partnerships, and mentoring courses. Course topics included local itinerary design and guiding techniques, community itinerary design and guided tours, as well as how to build an in-depth community travel experience. Presentations from local associations such as the “Tainan Guantian Leisure & Rural Tourism”, “Tainan City South 168 Industry and Tourism Development Association” and “Tainan Lady Win Cultural and History Tourism Development Association” as well as a networking event, were also arranged to engage with participants and promote their active participation. In the future, City Hall will continue to promote related projects that combine community resources with the power of the local industries and merchants to turn pond mini-tours into a new stimulus for urban development that will hopefully boost the overall worth of the travel market and create a sustainable local tourism environment.
Hutoubi was the first reservoir to be built in Taiwan and is famed for its mountain and lakeside views. The rich history and natural sights make it suitable for hiking, aquatic recreation, and camping; Deyuanbi fuses ecological conservation with cultural creative design. The slippery slide suspension bridge and broad meadows make it a popular destination for family outings. The Hulubi Lakeside Trail and Birdwatching Platform offer a wealth of wetland ecology experiences perfect for environmental education and eco-tours. The three ponds each have their own distinctive character and serve as important resources in the promotion of pond mini-tours. City Hall will connect these local features, communities, merchants and tourism resources to further strengthen tourism experiences and industry links. Pond tourism in Tainan will therefore not only offer cultural depth but also demonstrate sustainable tourism value. A travel experience unique to Tainan will be crafted so that city residents and travelers can all come to appreciate the diverse and charming facets of Tainan during their trip.
