The Tourism Bureau of the Tainan City Government is striving to build a friendly accommodation environment. Having previously introduced a variety of services, including family-friendly, pet-friendly, bicycle-friendly, environment-friendly, and gender-friendly services, an “Information Session on Star-rated Hotels, Eco Labels, and Muslim-friendliness” was recently held. All the accommodation providers in the city were invited to join in fostering a heart-warming, attentive, and friendly travel experience.
Mayor Huang Wei-che said that the goal of the Tainan tourism industry is sustainable development. The City is therefore actively collaborating with central government policy by promoting the MOTC’s Star Hotel Evaluation and the Ministry of Environment (MoENV)'s eco label accommodation provider. Vendors are mentored at the software and hardware levels from the very beginning in order to achieve national leadership. At the same time, the New Southward Policy and the development of diverse tourism markets made the construction of accommodation suitable for Muslim travelers all the more important. The Tourism Bureau is directed to make a friendly reception their starting point for cultivating the unique charm of sustainable tourism in Tainan.
Director-General Lin Kuo-hua from the city Tourism Department even held separate information sessions in the Xibei and Xinan regions to make mentoring information more accessible to the industry. Operators who couldn’t make it on the day could also watch the online replay through the Tainan Travel website. Professional vendors will be commissioned to provide counseling for individual cases. This will reduce the administrative and labor burden for the industry. Director-General Lin Kuo-hua noted that competition is continuing to intensify in the tourism market. How to present a unique and friendly appearance will be crucial for accommodation providers looking to attract travelers. Director-General Lin emphasized the need for operators to work with City Hall on obtaining certifications for star-rated hotels, eco labels, and Muslim friendliness. By enhancing their own competitiveness and meeting the diverse needs of travelers, Tainan can be transformed through teamwork into a model city for sustainable travel.
