The developer of the world-famous “Pokémon GO” mobile game announced on September 19 through its website that real-world “Pokémon GO Tour” events will make a triumphant return for three days from February 20 to February 22, 2026! They also revealed that the events will be held in two locations - Tainan, Taiwan, and Los Angeles, USA!
Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che stated that the “Pokémon GO” game will celebrate its tenth anniversary next year. Tainan City is very pleased to be collaborating with the “Pokémon GO” team again after hosting the “Pokémon GO City Safari” event in 2024 during the Taiwan Lantern Festival. Trainers from around the world should start making plans now. Apart from taking part in the GO Tour event in Tainan, they should also check out the historical buildings, try out the local cuisine, experience the people and culture of the historic city, and enjoy a “Pokémon GO Mini-Trip” that is at least four days in length.
Director-General Lin Kuo-hua from the Tourism Bureau of Tainan City Government said the new event will coincide with the Lunar New Year holiday period. The early announcement gives trainers time to plan their itinerary in advance. The Tourism Bureau also reminds trainers planning to visit Tainan for the event to organize their food, accommodation, travel, and shopping in advance. This will allow them to not only unlock all of the “Pokémon GO Tour” missions in Tainan but also experience the best that Tainan has to offer.
The Tourism Bureau said that the event is now being developed by the “Pokémon GO” team and trainers should wait for further announcements from the developer.

But that’s not all! Shortly after the in-person events, a two-day global celebration will take place February 28 and March 1, 2026! No matter where you are in the world, you can participate in the worldwide finale of Pokémon GO Tour.
